How do I become a Member?

You can easily buy and activate the Membership plan of your choice in the control panel. If you don’t have an account with us yet, you can make one for free in just a few clicks. If you already have an account with us, open the control panel. Make sure there is enough balance on your account. If your balance is sufficiently topped up, go to the “Membership Plans” tab in the left menu and select the plan of your choice. Your plan will immediately be activated.

What does “domains at cost price” mean?

Simply put, buying domains at cost price means you pay exactly what we pay for each domain at the registries. There are no hidden fees or charges, or unexpectedly high renewal prices. On top of that, as we are directly accredited with most registries, we are continuously negotiating with them for the best prices, and we often run special, Member-only domain promotions.

What are domain operations, and which ones are included in Memberships?

Domain operations are actions that can be performed on a domain. The most common ones are registrations, renewals, transfers, data updates, and trades (change of ownership). These are all included in our Membership plans.

What’s the cancellation policy for Memberships?

It is not possible to cancel your Membership after you have purchased it. If you do not want to renew your Membership, you can turn off the option to auto-renew your Membership in the control panel.

Can I “upgrade” or “downgrade” to a different Membership Plan?

Yes, you can upgrade and downgrade your Membership Plan at any moment by activating the plan of your choice.

Does my Membership expire? How can I renew it?

Your Membership plan expires after one year or when the maximum number of domain operations is reached. We’ll notify you via email 30, 14, and 2 days before expiration and when you reach 95% and 99% of your plan limit. Auto-renew is enabled by default for new members, ensuring renewal if your account has sufficient balance. If your balance is insufficient or auto-renew is off, your Membership will expire, and you’ll be charged non-member prices for domains and products.

Do you need a Membership to use Openprovider’s services?

No. It is not necessary to purchase a Membership to buy and manage domains and security products with Openprovider. However, a Membership is highly recommended if you manage multiple domains, even if you only manage a few of them. Becoming a Member will give you access to domains at cost price, as well as to discounted rates on SSL certificates, SpamExperts, and other security products. Even if you have a small portfolio, a Membership will help you save. On average, you only need to register or renew 10 domains to get the value of a Basic S Membership back to you!
